A Few Verses to Share

Recently, I have been reading through Hebrews and so many verses have caused me to pause and think about what is being communicated in them, to take to heart what is being shared and taught. And also, to thank the Lord for what He has done. Yesterday morning, the latter was often the case and especially when reading the below passages:

"But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" Hebrews 9:11-14

" . . . but now once at the consummation of ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him." Hebrews 9:26b-28

"Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful . . ." Hebrews 10:19-23

  2. Hebrews always seemed so hard to understand a few years ago - I am just now beginning to really appreciate the verses there, such as the ones you posted. How beautiful are the messages and promises contained in these verses!

  4. I, too, used to have difficulty understanding Hebrews, Anna. It seems that the more one reads it, the more understanding there is . . . and the more discovery there is of the rich and beautiful truths that are contained within it. What a blessing is the word of God!

Thank you for your comment! :)
