His Faithfulness . . .

The below hymn was sung this past Sunday, and the truths that are spoken in it were a blessing to me . . . no matter what circumstances lie around us, no matter how turbulent the times we live, the Lord is indeed faithful. He does not change, nor do the promises that He has made to us in His word fail to hold true. His faithfulness, His truthfulness, and His lovingkindness to us always will remain . . .

Great is Thy Faithfulness

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father!
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not;
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see:
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided -
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see:
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided -
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see:
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided -
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

"Your lovingkindness, O LORD, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; Your judgments are like a great deep. O LORD, You preserve man and beast. How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings . . ." Psalm 36:5-7

  3. Our Lord is always faithful and the hymn that you wrote out really tells of His loyalty to all His children. And He is so quick to forgive and show us mercy if we run to Him and repent~but I know that He will never compromise. Too many people in today's society want God to compromise and be the "God" they imagine Him to be so that they won't have to feel guilty about doing something that does not honor Him. It is so important to memorize our scriptures and I just love the quotes of verses that you put up on your blog~they remind me of how much God does love us. God bless, Rose

  4. Thank you so much for sharing those thoughts, Rose! How true they are! The Lord is indeed merciful and compassionate and has a love far beyond what we finite beings could ever comprehend. How very much we have to thank Him for!

    You are right that in today’s day and age, so many do want God to compromise . . . in fact, they go so far as to create their own ‘god’ that fits within their own ideas and desires instead of going to Scripture to find out who God really is. Yes, He is a God of love, but He is also a God of justice and of uncompromising truth; and He is a God to be feared and revered.

    We would agree completely, that it is so important for us to memorize Scripture and also to become very familiar with it as a whole for it is only through His Word that we can truly come to know Him as He truly is.

    Thank you again, Rose, for your comment as it was a great blessing to us!
